In 2005 he moved to the research and development department of the Danish catalyst producer and technology company TOPSOE, where he is still employed today. His core research expertise lies on the synthesis and characterization of micro- and mesoporous materials for applications in catalysis and separation, polyoxometalates as molecular precursors for oxides/sulfides in catalysis and energy applications and development of in-situ/operando spectroscopic tools to follow chemical reactions and the synthesis of materials. His technical experience in the field of industrial catalysis, ranges from chemicals over refinery to environmental applications, with focus on the development of catalysts for synthetic fuels production. He is an author and co-author of over 100 research papers in peer reviewed journals and contributed to several monographs (book chapters) related to material science and catalysis.
